Our small family business (G.B. Business Enterprises Ltd) has grown with the support of our many clients and the dedication of our team members – for these efforts we are sincerely Grateful. G.B. Business Enterprises Ltd. does business as RV City with two locations - Morinville & Nisku, serving Edmonton and surrounding areas.
Welcome to RV City
1968...G.B. Business founder, Garry/Sonia and Brent/Ellen Hodgins started in the gas station business with a Pacific 66 Gas (St Albert) and Esso (Edmonton).
1976...Garry and Brent opened St. Albert Tire and Auto and Trailer Town. This business focused on automotive servicing and RV sales and service.
1979...Garry and Brent acquired a Honda Automotive franchise and made plans to expand their facilities. The business was renamed Frontier Honda & Trailer Town.
1980/81...The business was relocated to the town of Morinville to have facility and land ownership vs. renting facilities in St. Albert.
1984...Trailer Town acquired Jayco Inc, products.
1989...Trailer Town was renamed RV City to better represent the scope of products the business offered from tent trailers through to Class A motorhomes.
1998...The business celebrated its 30th Anniversary. RV City grows to have a standalone Sales facility with an indoor showroom and a multi-bay service facility with a parts and accessories store.
2002...RV City expands Parts and Service Facility. The expansion includes specialty service bays for their RV Body Shop and Indoor Customer Orientation Bays for clients picking up their New and Used Units.
2008...RV City becomes an Exclusive Jayco Dealer. As an Exclusive Jayco Dealer, RV City can supply a wider range and selection of Jayco products and services.
2011...The business is sold to the now present owners Jean and Ross Hodgins, second-generation owners.
2012...RV City is awarded the Jayco Founders Award. The Jayco Founders Award is given to a dealership that embodies the Spirit of Jayco. RV City is the first Canadian Dealer recognized with this prestigious award.
2015...Frontier Honda moves to St. Albert and is renamed St. Albert Honda. RV City (Morinville) begins facility renovations. Upgraded showroom, enhanced Sales Reception area, and Parts & Accessories display upgrades.
2016...RV City expands operations in Morinville. The expansion includes adding additional inventory display space, a state of the art detailing and reconditioning facility, a staff gym, offices for marketing and support personnel, a facility face-lift and space for future expansion and new business initiatives. RV City opens its second Exclusive Jayco Dealership, in the Edmonton Area, in Leduc, AB. RV City (South) – Sales only location.
2017...RV City’s south location relocates to a larger facility in Nisku, AB to open RV City’s 2nd Full-Service Dealership in the Edmonton area. RV City welcomes JLS Decals & Signs to our Morinville location. JLS Decals & Signs manufacturers and supplies marketing materials and replacement decals for RV City, retail clients and other companies. RV City’s RV Body shop works with JLS Decals & Signs for warranty, insurance, and retail decal replacement. This local option provides faster turnaround time and the ability to access decals for our clients that are not longer available from the original manufacturer for units in for maintenance, repairs or upgrades. Assisting clients with custom needs for their RVs is also a service offered by the team at JLS. A popular option is to create of custom nickname badge for a client's RV, such as "Betty" the Class B Van or "Alfred" the Jay Flight Travel Trailer. JLS Decals & Signs is an RVDA associate member and an AMVIC registered business.
2018...G.B. Business Enterprises celebrates its 50th Anniversary of serving Albertans with the products and services we offer - it's a true honor.
2021...G.B. Business acquires an additional facility and lot space in Morinville. The RV City detailing & reconditioning facility is relocated to the new building. The former detailing facility is re-purposed to suit the needs of JLS Decals & Signs growth.
2021...G.B. Business acquires additional property in partnership with the County of Leduc. This expansion provides additional retail display space as well as increased spots for clients using RV City South's location as their home base for warranty, maintenance and general servicing needs2023 and... G.B.
